Apple has launched its high-end iPhone 14 Pro models, each gaining the A16 plus improved cameras — and losing the notch in favor of a pill called the Dynamic Island.
The new iPhone Pro is the core of Apple’s September 7 “Far Out” event, and the two high-end models have seen the greatest difference since 2021’s iPhone 13 range. As expected, only the Pro models have gained Apple’s A16 processor, so for the first time, the Pro models will be running on a newer chip than the regular iPhone lineup.
The new display has an HDR brightness at 1600 nits, same as the Pro Display XDR. Peaks out at 2,000 nits on a bright day.
It’s the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max that also have the most visible differences from 2021’s models, and from the new iPhone 14, too. The notch is gone, replaced by a pill.
