macos – How do I ssh into my Mac?

To be honest, I thought such a basic question would be easy to find here, but I don’t see a reference, so I’m asking!

In brief, what are the canonical ways to ssh into my Mac securely?

Don’t be afraid to explain it to me like a dog.

I want to monitor Docker containers for a long-running job from a terminal application on my iPhone. That way if it fails while I am hiking, I can reconfigure and rerun the job while I continue to hike.
