Saying Wednesday that it created a “future-proof cloud gaming controller,” RiotPwr released a new iOS gaming controller with both Lightning and USB-C connectors.
“The RiotPWR RP1950 controller [is] the solution for the USB-C cloud gaming crisis for iOS users,” the company added.

In other words, RiotPwr’s new controller gets Apple users out of having to modify a controller or buy different ones to game with Lightning and USB-C devices.
While you can upgrade connections for its existing Xbox Edition (RP1950XCloud) controller (see Cult of Mac‘s review) and ESL Gaming Controller for iOS (RP1950ESL), the RP1950 controller comes with both Lightning and USB-C cables.
“Competitors’ controllers come in Lightning and USB-C variations, but their designs limit users to one connection ability. Apple gamers would need to buy a brand-new controller to play on future Apple devices such as iPads,” said Fraser Townley, CEO of RiotPwr.
“RiotPWR has always made future-proofing a priority when designing our controllers with our unique swappable and upgradable connection design,” he added.

RiotPwr said it designed the controllers for cloud gaming — in particular, for switching from console play to mobile cloud gaming with no need to change the style of play.
The controller’s pass-through charging technology powers gaming. An adjustable phone mount display accommodates any phone case, while also allowing users to adjust tilt for the best position.
The new RiotPWR RP1950 controller is available at Apple.
